At a time when there is a desperate shortage of Junior Doctors, the Health Secretary has tied their hands and given them no option but to leave the NHS that they love and want to serve.

Yasmin Qureshi, MP for Bolton South East, commenting ahead of the Junior Doctors strike, said:

"Junior Doctors deserve our support.

"At a time when there is a desperate shortage of Junior Doctors, the Health Secretary has tied their hands and given them no option but to leave the NHS that they love and want to serve.

"Although strike action will cause disruption, and cause some concern for a short time, it is important to remember who has the best interest of patients at heart, and it certainly isn't a Government that is ideologically driven to privatise our public services."
