Mary's Meals comes to Cite Soleil, Haiti

I was delighted the other day to receive a letter from the charity ‘Mary’s Meals‘, telling me about their ‘Double The Love‘ campaign.

Mary’s Meals is a charity that finds simple solutions to the world’s hunger and feed young people in developing countries by providing daily meals in schools.  They works in communities in countries like Malawi and Zambia, and have done since 2002.

Through your goodwill and generosity, Mary’s Meals combats hunger and reaches 1.4 million children every day. It costs just £13.90 to feed a child with Mary’s Meals for a whole school year, helping children to grow up healthily and become the men and women who can lead their countries to prosperity, and reduce their reliance on foreign aid.

I am especially pleased that they have been successful in their UK Aid Match campaign, ‘Double the Love’, which seeks the British government match public donations to Mary’s Meals, up to £2 million, until 1st March.

This is an incredibly important charity, not just for the young recipients of their support, but for all of us who want a more equal world.
