As of 1st April 2019, the Citizens’ Advice Bureau will offer the ‘Help to Claim’ service, dedicated to supporting people with Universal Credit claims.  The Citizens’ Advice Bureau is a fantastic charity organisation with a strong track record of helping people negotiate and understand Government, the law and the welfare system.

‘Help to Claim’ is absolutely free, impartial and confidential.  It is designed to help people who have practical difficulties making their application, and helps to ensure that claimants receive the correct amount of money, paid at the right time.

‘Help to Claim’ is available online, by telephone in England at 0800 144 8 444 or face to face at your nearest Citizens’ Advice Bureau.  Bolton Citizens’ Advice Bureau is at 26-28 Mawdsley Street, Bolton, BL1 1LF – see their website for opening times.

If you are having any difficulties making your application or understanding the process, please do get in touch with the Citizens’ Advice Bureau and use their service.
