I am pleased to hear that all four of the railway stations in our Bolton South East constituency are to receive accessibility funding from the Department for Transport:Bolton, Moses Gate, Farnworth and Kearsley.

Although we don’t yet know how much funding each station will receive, and what this will equate to in terms of tangible improvements, I am glad that the Government has dedicated some monies to the improvement of accessibility on our railways.

The additional obstacles that disabled people face are often overlooked by society and Governments, which is why I welcome this funding and the launch of the ‘it’s everyone’s journey’ advertising campaign to highlight how we can all play a part in making public transport inclusive.
