Bolton’s Logistics North is nearing completion with ‘big name’ organisations beginning to move onto the site, securing many jobs and opportunities for Bolton people.

Yasmin Qureshi, MP for Bolton South East, paid a visit to the missile systems company MBDA, currently based in Lostock, at their new purpose-built operation at Logistics North.

Ms Qureshi paid tribute to the vision which is leading to significant growth in Bolton industry.

Ms Qureshi said:

“MBDA is a long-time resident of Bolton and I am delighted to welcome the company to my constituency; they make a huge contribution to Bolton’s growing industries. This is a global investment, delivering excellent opportunities for our young people and it is an exciting vision to seeing coming to fruition in such challenging times.”

Bernard Waldron, MBDA’s Manufacturing Director UK, said:

“The company has invested £40M in this state-of-the-art facility, one which will enable MBDA to continue to provide the UK Ministry of Defence with world-leading products from Bolton for the next 25 years and beyond. We provided an insight into the complexity of building such a unique facility, whilst also providing an  update on the future business throughput and resourcing. I was delighted that she also had time to meet with some of our employees, including a number of our apprentices and our Trade Unions representatives.”

MBDA is expected to begin moving to their new site at Logistics North in the next few weeks.
