In response to concerns surrounding the future of outdoor residential and education centres, the Government has said that it has made some support measures available to UK businesses.

However, it is vital that the Government works with these centres to set out a proper, strategic plan for the future that can adapt to changing circumstances and give businesses and workers the certainty they need.

I have written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, and asked him to support outdoor residential centres, so that they have a future.  You can see a copy of my letter below.

More generally, small businesses – such as outdoor education centres – are the backbone of our economy.  There must be a focus on protecting small businesses that have been worst affected by COVID-19 rules and continue to face restrictions over the coming months.

I will continue to support calls for a long-term plan to protect jobs and livelihoods through the pandemic.
