I have been contacted by constituents in relation to the recent transfer of land at Haslam Park to the Department for Education, in order to facilitate the proposed building of a new school.  Some of the residents  are against the disposal of land for this purpose, and some are in favour of it.

Whilst I acknowledge that there is high demand for new school places, I am not convinced that permanently depriving local residents of a much-loved and vital green space is the best way to achieve this.  There are over 100 brownfield sites in Bolton and I am making enquiries to find out what investigations have been done into the suitability of those sites for such a purpose.
