On Monday 6th January, I spoke in the Westminster Hall debate on the petition for a new General Election. My position is clear, we had an election on the 4th July 2024, and now Labour are getting on with fixing the mess the Conservative party left us with after 14 years. In just six months we have worked quickly to resolve disputes with Doctors, Teachers and Train Drivers. We have ensured that Local Government is properly funded, with money available for pothole repair and homelessness provision. We need to get on with the job of fixing the foundations of this country, and that is what we are doing.
