I was delighted to join fellow MPs, community leaders and PIA CEO Amir Hayat to celebrate the return of direct PIA flights from Manchester to Islamabad.
This is a major win for families and communities across Bolton South and Walkden and the wider North West. For years, many have had to endure long layovers or travel great distances just to visit loved ones in Pakistan. Now, with this new route from Manchester Airport’s upgraded Terminal 2, over 350,000 passengers a year will benefit from direct, convenient travel.
This isn’t just about flights – it’s about reconnecting families, boosting tourism and strengthening the ties between the UK and Pakistan. I’m proud to support initiatives that bring our communities closer together and make life easier for the people I represent.
